Michael Sconzo

Michael Sconzo - University Education and Research

Michael Sconzo is a history graduate pursuing advanced studies in library and information science. He earned a bachelor of arts in history from the University of Virginia in 2022 and is pursuing a master of library and information science at Syracuse University School of Information Studies. During his undergraduate years, Michael Sconzo was involved in several campus organizations, including the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, HackC'ville, Spectrum Theater, and Flux Literary Magazine.

Before attending university, Michael graduated Queensbury Senior High School, where he maintained several extracurricular activities. He was president of the National Honor Society, co-captain of the varsity soccer team, and competed in varsity Nordic skiing. He also participated in Key Club International and contributed to the Seeing Blue Literary Magazine as a layout editor.

Mr. Sconzo also completed historical research during his internship with the Library of Congress, where he was a guest blogger. He researched historical source materials and wrote a three-part blog series examining the relationship between railroads and the writings of poets Henry David Thoreau and Walt Whitman. Alongside his research responsibilities, he assisted visitors with accessing library resources and learning about the library's programs and services.
